Since the early days of childhood, Captain Dan has been a fishing fanatic. Remembering the days of carrying snook gilled through his bicycle’s handle bars with the their tails dragging on the ground is just one of the “true” fish tales you’ll hear from this seasoned veteran of the trade.
Spending most of his adult life in the commercial fishing industry, Dan has fished most of Florida, the Gulf Stream, Florida Keys, the Bahamas and the Caribbean. His decision to leave the commercial fishing industry and start a guide / charter service was based on a desire to promote the conservation of this resource by sharing his wealth of knowledge and love of fishing with his clients.
Our 26′ center console, open fisherman, is fully equipped with all of latest electronics and safety gear. This boat will get us to all of our secret areas and get us there fast. I offer half day and full day charters, times may vary according to the time of year.
I have a full spectrum of well maintained rods & reels and the tackle you will need for a successful fishing trip. If you have a favorite or lucky outfit feel free to bring it. My tackle ranges from 20 lb test to 100 lb test. Even though 40-60 lb test is often used, many times it will require hammered down 100 lb test to stop those big 20 lb+ groupers from returning to their holes. It will challenge even the most serious of fishermen and provide an action-packed day.
I clean your catch, you take it home and enjoy the fruits of your labor. “Eat it quick and come back to catch more fresh fish.” You will need to provide your own beverages and food and a good option is The Conch Key Deli.
To make your trip more comfortable you may want to bring rain gear, sun protection, hat and an anti- sea sickness medication, such as Dramamine, if you are prone to seasickness.
